Enjoy Your Holiday Weekend!

The local market for condos and townhomes continues to be hot for sellers across all price points in both Sarasota and Manatee counties. Markets are generally considered in “balance” when there is about six months of inventory for sale at the current pace of sales.

Last Friday, March 20th, marked the official first day of Spring, and we all know what that means…. Spring Cleaning! While my daughters might groan at the thought of this, I absolutely love this time of year. Of course, we live in Florida, so it might feel like it has been spring for quite some time, but it does not make the season feel any less wonderful. Spring brings buds of new life, so why not revitalize your home as well? Here are 3 tips to have a successful spring cleaning.

The Sarasota and Lakewood Ranch area is known for many things, such as being a thriving hub for the arts, a lovely beach town, and a prominent retirement community in Florida. A large percentage of my clients are moving to Florida for the first time from up North. They aim to escape freezing cold winters and enjoy their retirement in the sun… and who can blame them? I visit my parents every winter for about two weeks and let me tell you, that is more than enough cold to last me the whole year. One of the first questions I ask my older clients is whether they are looking to move into a 55+ neighborhood.

It can seem as if there are a million questions to ask before buying a home. How many bedrooms do you need, what school zone do you want to be in, is having a pool important to you, etc. Honestly, it can be quite daunting to think about, even for me, a realtor who is paid to think about these types of questions. Here are my big three questions – those that cannot be worked around and require serious thought before moving into your next home. If your answers do not bode well for the house in question, it is probably not the house for you.
